My Pitch
Pitch #1: Advertisement about shoes, multiple jump cuts of someone doing sports while wearing said shoes.
Originally, I was more interested in filming this idea. I think that it would be a very high-quality production and would really stand out from the other commercials. I thought that the acting would be pretty simple, and that it wouldn't require as much speaking as the second pitch. However, I also believe that it needed more difficult shots which would be hard to get with a normal camera, and also, we might not have the equipment needed. This pitch was also more difficult on the editing portion, and we don't know if we have the skills required for it.
Pitch #2: Ad about sports drink: A boy got done with a sport of choice and he is tired and dehydrated, and then drinks a sports hydration drink to feel better hydrated and recover.
After the conversation, I became more interested in filming this idea about the sports drink. Sport hydration drinks are relevant and growing more popular by the day. I also believe that it would be fun, and we could have an overall better experience doing this pitch. It also would be pretty easy to act out. Another thing is that this pitch is able to be done with the skills and equipment we have in our group. The editing isn't too complex, and the materials needed for the pitch are also very easy to get. Overall, I didn't really have a problem doing either pitch as I found both to be fun.
Conversation:
At first, we were not sure which pitch we were going to go with. We considered many factors, such as the length of the advertisement and how we would format the ad. Arguments for pitch 1 were that the production quality would be higher, at the expense of higher difficulty. Members of the group proposed that pitch 2 would be a lot more efficient. As well as being less demanding for the editing portion.
