Pitch 1: Believer by Imagine Dragons
I would be interested in filming this pitch. This song goes with the theme we had in mind for this music video. We also thought as a group that the scenes could have a cool impact with each loud clap of the song. Acting out this song would not be difficult either or could be relatively like the other song in terms of scenes. Believer has an upbeat tempo that aligns with the theme of our music video.
Pitch 2: Till I collapse by Eminem
I would also be interested in using this music for the pitch. This song would work well for an idea based on motivation or working out, due to the lyrics in the song. The only problem with this pitch is that we would have to use a clean version since the original has profanity in it. I also feel that it wouldn’t be that difficult to act out a scene while using the song, and it would incorporate well with the music video. This song would also allow for longer scenes, and most likely less editing work, giving us more time to film. The upbeat tempo of this song aligns well with what we have in mind.
Our conversation:
Me and my group thought that both songs were viable for the type of music video we wanted to do. It was very hard to choose what song we wanted to use in the end, as all of them interested us and we thought none of them to be significantly better than the other. We also had to think about the different moods the song created, and which we believed would work with the scenes better. Overall, our group concluded that both were very similar in terms of the style of how we wanted to film, and this made it even more difficult for us to come to a conclusion. This changed when one of our group members pointed out the lyrics of Till I collapse match better with the theme of our music video. Someone also pointed out the lyrics for Believer were rather repetitive.
Our decision:
We have decided to go with “Till I Collapse” by Eminem, because we felt that the beat of the song will go best with the kind of music video that we want to film. Till I Collapse has a slightly faster tempo, matching better with our planned jump cuts. This song will give us greater flexibility for the kinds of shots we can use.
