Production Blog: Before the Music Video

For the Music Video, we decided to go and film at my friend’s residence. This is due to a clubhouse being really close to his house which made it easier to film. Before the filming, I first had to make sure I had all the equipment needed. This was because I was the main actor for the film. I made sure to get swim goggles, athletic clothes, boxing gloves, and some tennis shoes. Getting this equipment was fairly easy as I already had most of them before the project started. I went over the music choice we made before the film, and talked it over with my group mates on a call. This was to ensure we had the proper music choice that would best fit the style of the video. Now as for the acting, I had to prepare myself before the filming. I made sure to practice my butterfly strokes (swimming) as I knew it had to look good for the video. I did this by going into the pool near my house every day and doing laps just consisting of the butterfly stroke. I also had to make sure my cardio was good enough, so I practiced this by jogging outside near my house. This would consist of me going around the block once or twice a day, which definitely helped for all the running portions of the film. I would ocasionally go out to my local gym and run/jog on the treadmill as endurance practice for the film. For the boxing part, I had to buy a pair of my own gloves. I practiced this by doing punches on a bag and some shadow boxing. I learned the proper technique before the day of the film to make sure it looked good on camera. This overall helped me prepare for my role during the film, and I don’t regret any of the practicing as it helped the film turn out good.I also made sure to be fit and eat healthy so I wouldn’t feel much fatigue. Before the film I also made sure to have a ride, so I contacted my group mate to see if he was able to take me to their house.
