Production Blog: During the filming

I went to my groupmate's location via a ride from my other groupmate. I made sure I had all of my equipment before going. This included the swimming goggles, boxing gloves, and tennis shoes I had mentioned earlier. Once arriving, I began to film the music video with my group members. Because I was the main actor, I had to perform in mostly every single shot, and most of them were an athletic performance. I wore my athletic clothes for the majority of the film, except for when I had to swim. For this, I instead filmed without a shirt since I had no swimming top. The first action I had to do was running on a treadmill, which we had to refilm to get better angles. I most likely ended up running a mile or two during the entirety of the film. I set the treadmill speed to the max it could go while running to show strenous activity. After I ran on the treadmill, my group member's filmed me running outside on the grass and on the sidewalk. This shot had to be retaken multiple times which caused me to feel more and more fatigued as the music video went on. I then also had to appear as if I was boxing or sparring. I did this by lightly punching the other actor's hands, as to have the effect of a workout or spar. As a group we decided to have multiple angles of the shot, which resulted in retakes. Another shot consisted of me swimming from one end of the pool to another. I had to perform the proper butterfly stroke technique so that it would look better on the filming. In the end we kept the portion where I was closer to the camera for a better effect. The swimming was the last part of the music video as it would have made me wet for the other shots which wouldn't look as good on camera. Overall, being the main actor of the music video required a lot of exercising and athletic movement which made me tired in the end.
