Production Blog: Finishing up Editing

By now, me and my group were almost done with the project. We filmed our music video, and edited some of it. Now it was time for us to put in the final touches. I did the same work as I did before, this means mostly giving feedback and input on how to edit the music video. The first thing I did was help out with the editing of the conclusion of the video. The conclusion was meant to be when I was fully fatigued and could no longer work out. I suggested we edited in the take of the main actor punching slower, and eventually falling right after another take of me boxing. This was meant to be a smoother transition and would help out with the flow of the music video. I suggested this change because it makes more sense to transition from me boxing and then boxing again, but this time falling and unable to workout, rather than from boxing to swimming and then me falling. Another thing I helped out on was the color gradient of the entire film. I did this by first getting onto a call with my groupmates to discuss the editing. Then, I helped adjust the color gradient that would give off a better mood or emotion for the video. The color gradient would also help the video be more aesthetic and pleasing to the eye, rather than some boring plain color. This of course wasn’t done entirely by me, and I give a lot of the credit to my groupmate who properly knew how to edit. Another thing I contributed to the editing process was choosing on which take we should use for the swimming portion. I helped my group members decide on which we should use, and I pointed out that the one with the palm trees and nice background would be of better use. My first reason for this was because it was filmed smoother, and it was the best overall scting we had for that take. Secondly, the background was nicer than the others, which we hoped to attract the viewers eye better. Overall, editing was time consuming and difficult at times, but me and my group mates were able to get the job done. Now, it was finally time to put some finishing touches, and give out the music video.
