Filming Again!

Welcome back to my blog! Today, I will be talking about the second filming process of our final task! After the progress we got done with last time, we were hopeful to finish. I went back to my friend’s house after school. My mother had to drive me this time. Once I got there, we began filming at around 7 pm again. For one of the shots, I had to drop my phone on the ground. This ended up happening a total of three times. Honestly, I'm surprised my phone didn’t break. Most of the shots we filmed consisted of me being on a phone call with the “Unknown Caller.” My friend, being the unknown caller, had to do all the voicing. This was difficult to concentrate on because honestly, his voice sounded really goofy. It wasn’t scary at all, so it forced me to laugh or smile a couple times which made us redo the shot. I made sure to tell my groupmates that we needed a tilt and pan, which we included during the scene where I pick up the phone from the ground. And the pan came from when I walked towards the living room. One of our shots using digetic sound came from my friend slamming a chair on the ground. This was supposed to startle me, which it actually did. That was probably one of the more genuine shots as I actually didn’t expect it. After all of this, we filmed the final few shots with the close-up,  and wide shot. We used TV static for these final shots which added to the theme. When we finished filming, it was time for editing, I returned to my house, exhausted.

Editing Blog: Music and fixing

For the editing, I helped out a lot in the music portion. First, me and my group mates met on a call, and we began to discuss what we should add, or fix for the commercial. As I said, my portion was pretty much the music and fixing any bugs or glitches in the film. I had to make sure that the music would fit the overall theme and tone of the commercial. This ended up being a more intense and dramatic music to fit the commercial. I then had to make sure the music fit the overall pacing and different shots of the commercial. This way a really intense part of the music wouldn't play for just me doing something simple like setting up the ball. Other than this, I made sure that the music would cut off at certain moments where we needed the audio to be emphasized.  I also made sure that it fit within the time frame of the commercial and wouldn’t go over the time we needed. Our Storyboard

  Scene 1:   The camera is looking down at the ground. The ground is bare, and there’s little movement.  Scene 2:   The camera shifts to show someone setting a soccer ball with their foot. The ball is placed carefully as the camera lingers on it for a moment.  Scene 3:   A close-up of player 1, who is visibly sweaty, emphasizes their exhaustion. Audio of player 1 breathing heavily plays in the background.  Scene 4:   The audio bridges into the next shot. The next shot is from player 1’s point of view, looking at the goalkeeper (player 2). This shot is at a Dutch angle, adding tension and unease. The camera's movement is unstable, mimicking player 1’s disoriented state.
