Lyrics (CLEAN): (Yo, left, yo, left) 'Cause sometimes  you just feel tired (Yo, left, right, left) Feel weak, and  when you feel weak (Yo, left, yo, left) You feel like you  wanna just give up (Yo, left, right, left) But you gotta  search within you (Yo, left, yo, left) Try to find that inner strength and just pull that out of you (Yo, left, right, left) And get that motivation to not give up (Yo, left, yo, left) And not be a quitter (Yo, left, right, left) No matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse. 'Til the roof comes off, 'til the lights go out 'Til my legs give out, can't shut my mouth 'Til the smoke clears out, I'ma rip this, 'til my bones collapse 'Til the roof comes off, 'til the lights go  out ('Til the roof, until the roof) 'Til my legs give out, can't shut my  mouth (The roof comes off, the roof comes off) 'Til the smoke clears out, ('Til my legs, until my legs) I'ma rip this, 'til m...

Production Blog: Finishing up Editing

Image
By now, me and my group were almost done with the project. We filmed our music video, and edited some of it. Now it was time for us to put in the final touches. I did the same work as I did before, this means mostly giving feedback and input on how to edit the music video. The first thing I did was help out with the editing of the conclusion of the video. The conclusion was meant to be when I was fully fatigued and could no longer work out. I suggested we edited in the take of the main actor punching slower, and eventually falling right after another take of me boxing. This was meant to be a smoother transition and would help out with the flow of the music video. I suggested this change because it makes more sense to transition from me boxing and then boxing again, but this time falling and unable to workout, rather than from boxing to swimming and then me falling. Another thing I helped out on was the color gradient of the entire film. I did this by first getting onto a call with my g...

Production Blog: Editing Process

Image
After the filming of the music video was done, it was now time to edit. I did this by getting on a call with my groupmates, and discussed how we should edit the music video. While editing wasn’t my main job, I mostly gave feedback and input. The reason why I wasn’t the main editor of the group was due to the fact we had a more experienced groupmate that knew how to edit. I could only barely edit, and it would probably do a more poor job than my teammate. I still wanted to provide some help, so I gave my own tips or input that I believed should be added into the video. This feedback and input was then added into the music video. The original music included some profanity. So the first thing I made sure to do was remind my group mate to cut out any profanity included in the music. Another thing I did when editing was help out in deciding which scenes to use. This was because we had recorded multiple takes of the same scene to give us a variety of options. An example of me doing thi...

Production Blog: During the filming of the Music Video

Image
Other than being a main actor as previously stated in my other blog, I assisted with other things during the filmmaking process. One of these being suggesting ideas and giving feedback on how the camera should be positioned during the shot. I often gave feedback to my groupmates who asked how we should film a certain scene or what type of angle to use, and this in turn helped the video come out more smoothly. I suggested that we filmed the scene of me running outside using a tracking shot, as this would work better than a pan as previously wanted. I also helped in saying whether we should use a high angle, low angle, or tilt for the shot of me strapping on boxing gloves. Whenever my groupmates needed help or wanted to discuss how we should perform a scene, I was always there to speak out and help them. Sometimes it would be difficult on choosing what angle or movement worked the best for certain scenes, especially the beginning scene where I walked towards the clubhouse. I helped...

Production Blog: During the filming

Image
I went to my groupmate's location via a ride from my other groupmate. I made sure I had all of my equipment before going. This included the swimming goggles, boxing gloves, and tennis shoes I had mentioned earlier. Once arriving, I began to film the music video with my group members. Because I was the main actor, I had to perform in mostly every single shot, and most of them were an athletic performance. I wore my athletic clothes for the majority of the film, except for when I had to swim. For this, I instead filmed without a shirt since I had no swimming top. The first action I had to do was running on a treadmill, which we had to refilm to get better angles. I most likely ended up running a mile or two during the entirety of the film. I set the treadmill speed to the max it could go while running to show strenous activity. After I ran on the treadmill, my group member's filmed me running outside on the grass and on the sidewalk. This shot had to be retaken multiple times wh...
